Our story

Three engineers and forty bottles

We kept our jobs and started anyway. This is how it actually went.

How it actually went

Nobody tells you about the middle.

Most founder stories skip from the idea to the win. The middle is where people quit, so here is ours.

  1. The start

    Three friends, one complaint

Every bottle in Lahore was overpriced, probably fake, and nobody would tell you which. We put in our own money and bought forty.

  2. The middle

    It nearly stopped

Our first shipment sat in customs five weeks. We refunded every order out of our own pockets. Then a supplier sold us stories, and we paid for that too.

  3. Now

    It pays for itself

Orders go out most days. We still pack most of them. Not a fortune — but ours, and it works.

What it looks like

There is no warehouse. There is us.

The founders

Two laptops and a coffee table

Pricing gets decided here. So does which house to stock next, usually after someone points out the numbers do not work.

Every question

A person answers

Ask what a scent does after four hours and you get an honest answer — including the ones that lose us the sale.

If you take one thing from this page

You do not need permission, and you do not need to quit your job.

One small thing, this month, with money you can afford to lose.

Start with one small thing

What we would tell you

Four things that cost us money to learn

  1. 01

    Start smaller than feels serious

Forty bottles was small enough to survive failing, real enough to teach us something.

  2. 02

    Keep the salary

Quitting early is a story people tell after it worked. Our jobs paid for the mistakes.

  3. 03

Sell what you wanted to buy

We were the frustrated customer first. That was the only research we had.

  4. 04

    Pay for your mistakes fast

The refunds hurt. They also bought us the customers still ordering today.

Where we are now

The honest numbers

  • Still after hours

Day jobs by nine. The Perfume Vault either side of that.

  • Packed by hand

No fulfilment partner. The three of us.

  • Own money only

    No investor, no loan.

  • One number

A founder replies, not a script.
